According to Election Commission (EC) chief Mohd Hashim Abdullah, if you’re not happy with Sungai Besar Umno chief Jamal Md Yunos giving out an RM25,000 lucky draw prize and promising RM2,000 to voters, you can lodge a report with MACC.
On April 30, Jamal offered those from the Sekinchan constituency RM25,000 and a motorcycle as the top prize in a lucky draw.
The following day, he promised Sekinchan fisherfolk RM2,000 each if Barisan Nasional wins the state seat in GE14.
Malaysiakini reported that Hashim was asked at a press conference in Bukit Aman today if the EC would take action against Jamal.
“EC merely conducts matters related to general elections.
“If this is related to graft, then should go to MACC,” he was quoted saying.
Hashim reportedly added that the MACC would take action if a report was lodged for alleged corruption and abuse of power.
