A mother’s anguish as she holds her collapsed son has been captured in a photo taken by Avinash Lodhi in India.
Apparently, the baby monkey had tripped over on the ground and appeared unconscious as his mother clutched him and cried out in distress.
According to the Daily Telegraph, the youngster may have just been overdramatic as he reportedly was back on his feet moments later! Talk about learning the tricks of seeking attention at a tender age!
It was reported that Lodhi, 31, said the photo was very close to his heart.
“Throughout my entire photography career, I have never seen anything like this,” he told the Daily Telegraph.
“It was so quick I didn’t even know what was happening when I took the picture but as soon as I confirmed the image I was silent for an hour.
“This moment is rare, especially with animals,” he added.
With Mother’s Day around the corner, it comes to mind that that the love of all mothers – humankind and animal kind – for their children is about the greatest love of all.
