PKR will kick off its #AyuhMalaysia truck campaign tomorrow to prepare for the 15th general election (GE15).

Its deputy president, Rafizi Ramli, said truck campaign would see PKR leaders, like vice-presidents Nurul Izzah Anwar, Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad and Chang Lih Kang, going to the ground to explain issues to the people.

“Since a few months ago, I have been paying attention to national issues so that PKR and Pakatan Harapan (PH) take a more proactive approach.

“PKR was previously seen as being defensive and allowed Umno propaganda machinery to turn around many things. With the experience of running a campaign in the last election, PKR will outline some key tactics to win the election (GE15), including effective issues to attract and convince voters.

“In addition, it will also create campaign waves by mobilising machinery and volunteers as well as dominating digital campaigns with the production of quality social media content,” he said in a statement today.

Rafizi said the truck campaign comes after several initiatives to increase the presence of PKR and PH on social media.

“The performance of PKR’s social media continues to be monitored by communications director Lee Chean Chung. We are confident that PKR’s social media reach will cut off (Datuk Seri) Najib Razak’s reach in the next few weeks.

“After looking at this positive development, to process and access to social media, I can now focus on the next approach, which is to create a campaign wave on the ground,” he said.

Rafizi said the first destination of the campaign would be the parliamentary constituencies of Setiawangsa, Wangsa Maju, Gombak, Ampang, Batu, Titiwangsa and Selayang.

“The #AyuhMalaysia truck ceramah will start at 9pm, Aug 20, in front of the Red Chairs Restaurant, Jalan Wangsa Delima 6, Wangsa Maju. I invite voters in nearby areas to attend.

“The next #ayuhmalaysia truck destination is Seremban, Negri Sembilan on Sunday, Aug 28. The #AyuhMalaysia truck will travel throughout the country every week and will stop in the interiors and Felda (schemes), as we did in the last election campaign,” he said.

Rafizi said besides holding the information campaign, polling and counting agents (PACA) will be given training.

“Training of PACA and Ayuh Malaysia volunteers will be expanded, starting in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor Zone at Dewan Seri Iskandar Hall, Setiawangsa, Kuala Lumpur on Saturday, Aug 20 at 2pm.

“This training will focus on PACA training and Phonebank tutorials using the Cista application, which is part of the strategic work. Volunteers will be trained to become credible PACA agents while ‘phonebanking’ is to transform voters sitting on the fence to enable progressive candidates, win.

“Registration to take part in PACA training on Aug 20 can be made through the Cista app.

“I am confident that with this campaign and the continued momentum, Keadilan and PH will be ready for GE15.” – NST
