PKR president Anwar Ibrahim has admitted his party and Pakatan Harapan’s weakness in penetrating rural areas with the coalition’s message, particularly in Malay-majority areas.
The opposition leader said the same realisation was felt by top Harapan leaders, including Amanah president Mohamad Sabu and DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke.
“I admit PKR’s weakness, and Loke, Mohamad, understands that our weakness as Harapan is also the inability to penetrate into the villages, particularly among Malay-majority areas, to provide explanations to the people.

“I am confident Insya-Allah…we in the first meeting of the new leadership, we will make this a priority, together with Loke, Mohamad and (Upko president Wilfred) Madius (Tangau). We will discuss this matter in-depth,” Anwar said in his keynote address at the launch of PKR’s 16th National Congress in Shah Alam today. – Malaysiakini
